SCA In 2025 and Beyond
Welcome to a new year y'all! I thought I'd take a minute to let y'all know how things are progressing with the site, and give y'all an update on where I'd like to see this site go in 2025.
First of all, the site is live! I'm even running our first ever contest, where someone will win a $50 eBay gift card! This will run throughout the entire month of January but there is no fee to enter and if you refer a friend, you can get extra entries into the drawing, with no limit on the number of entries you can get!
As for the site, and what's going on behind the scenes right now, the coding is going great! I'm working on our collector showcase and hope to have that ready for release soon. I'm still working out how I want to display a few things, and how some thing should work. I really don't want to share a timeline for this, just because I've set "deadlines" in the past and that just never seems to work out.
As for the future, I'm hoping to have at least a few more features added to the site for 2025, including another feature that will be completely unique to The Arena, and will also allow members to show off some of the cards in their collection!
Of course none of this is possible without y'all! So, please, register, post, interact, and just have a good time talking cards (or just sports) with other members of the community. This is a fairly laid back site, with few rules and no initial restrictions that you must abide by to trade. It's also completely free to join! So there's really no reason not to register for a free account today, even if it's just to sign up to win that $50 eBay Gift Card!

The Arena and What's Next
So last week we released The Arena, our take on a quick-sale marketplace. You can read more about that here.
But what's next for SCA?
I'm really going to be pushing for a family-oriented community here. One where the members truly want to help other collectors with their collections, where flipping and selling isn't the primary interest amongst the members. I realize installing The Arena so early on in the building of this site doesn't necessarily back that up but, as I said before, that was the primary thought heading into this thing, hence the name.
That said, the next few things I'll be working on are completely collector based. I won't give out too much information, except to say that if you're a team collector, player collector, or set collector, our next new feature (while not completely unique) will be geared towards y'all, and helping y'all gain some exposure on your collection so hopefully folks will be able to find you more easily and help you add to your collection.
I know things are moving slowly but, if you read this, I encourage you to keep checking in, at least weekly. I'm moving as quickly as I can to build up this site and, as soon as I get the primary new features built/installed, then I'll start working to get the membership hopping on here.

Transaction Manager Installed and Registrations Open
Today I installed our Transaction Manager. Hopefully I got all the bugs worked out but, if not, I bet we'll find out soon enough.
With that, I also wanted to get the site opened up for registrations! Please be aware that we still have a long ways to go before I expect the site to really take off, but just having a way to track trades is a good enough start!
I'm super excited about sharing with y'all the things that I'm working on, and can't wait for them to be ready. That said, I also don't want to rush things and give something that is sub-par. So, please, be patient and keep checking back, whether you register or not, because there is a lot more coming!
