When the time comes, all members will be able to nominate any card(s) to be added to the poll, and voted on, for the awards. The only caveat will be that the cards would have had to be posted somewhere on this site within this year. So, yes, going through that thread will probably be a great way to find cards to nominate. It won't be an automated process, though, for nominations. All cards will need to be nominated individually, but members will be able to nominate their own cards.
