I'm not huge on movies but the ones I like,............I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY ......LIKE!
2 come to mind immediately. 1977's "Cross of Iron'"is one. A fairly obscure anti-war movie from the German point of view on the Russian Front during the retreat. James Coburn is the main star as the disillusioned anti-Nazi Sgt. Steiner. Many of his German commrades have English accents which doesn't take away from this brilliant movie. I'v never been in a war but I imagine that the frenzied, confusing battle scenes did a good job of conveying the fog of war to their audience.
And if there is a male that watches what a Russian nurse does to a German soldier without wincing..............then there is something wrong with you. OMG!

The second movie is the original Mad Max with the American overdubs. The original Aussie one I don't like because both the cops and the motorcycle gang have high pitched girlish voices. But that movie has the best opening scene and an iconic ending scene and a whole lot of great stuff in between.
I loved the first two Mad Maxs but did not like the third. And my brother was correct when he said I'll never get though 10 minutes of the 4th one and he was right!
