From 1955 leading up to 2009, no one had dominated at the plate like Hideki Matsui during the Fall Classic. A baseball legend in Japan, Matsui’s 2009 World Series performance helped the New York Yankees capture their 27th championship while etching “Godzilla’s” name in the record book. Matsui came to the US as highly decorated as one can be from Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
