And the award for worst halftime show in the history of the entire world, probably until now through forever, goes to Kendrick Lamar!!

Geeze y'all...just my personal opinion but I thought that was awful!

I didn’t love it…but my 13 and 10 year old boys did. Guess I’m at that point lol. 😂

I agree and I did not like the National Anthem either. I don't know it he forgot the words by repeating Land of the Free three times or just tried to make it his own as others that ruin it do.

I missed National Anthem, but I just got to work this morning and already got to hear one of my co-workers talk about how she hated it. So, yeah, I guess I'll be looking that up at some point today to have a watch. 🤦‍♂️

I muted it and then eventually turned my TV off

One of the things I did understand throughout the entire thing is that was a part where one of the "singers" kept screaming "turn his TV off". If I wasn't really looking forward to the second half of that game I probably would've taken him up on that.

The Super Bowl halftime show for the last at least 25 years has been pretty bad. Sure there have been some decent exceptions mixed in there somewhere but the modern halftime show has the formula of being flashy with too many lighting effects, a ton of people moving, sometimes dancing and either rap or hip hop. Sometimes big name artists in those genres or regular pop, and sometimes obscure artists. I guess a lot of it comes down to the fact that the halftime performers are "not paid" for the performance per say, but rather they get the Super exposure that often increases record sales the next day and opens more opportunities for them, like tons of endorsements. Apparently halftime performers have never been paid, or technically are only paid the required union wages for rehearsals and the performance. The money is made after BECAUSE of the performance. I think it was last year or the year before when it was said that halftime performers are now required to pay for their performance? In the early days they had marching bands.

Yeah, if we're gonna continue on this trend I'd prefer we just go back to marching bands. 🤣

Mostly joking but, I agree, most of the halftime shows have been mediocre, at best. I often wonder if it's just because I'm getting older and the audience they're trying to reach are all teenagers. I'd imagine one thing is for certain...having a bad performer probably creates a lot more talk about the performance than if it were a great show.

Yeah, college style!

I didn't watch the halftime show as usual but I heard it in the other room and it sounded like crap. I'm convinced that hip-hop is more of a social contagion that people claim to like just to fit in.

If you are interested in what this "performance" was really about, check out Jason Whitlock's insights over at YouTube on what was REALLY going on with that performance.

Of course all the critics said the show was "epic" and "awesome" but what else would you expect coming from weak minded lemings?? Propaganda reigns supreme in this country.

And I hope you liked Serena Williams doing the Crip walk in that performance. Unreal!

Yeah, we need to go back to marching band style!

It's okay to just not like certain types of music. You don't need to turn it into some sort of culture war or a core part of your personality.
